In development, we mainly use service-oriented architectures (SOA) to establish a flexible basis from which to fulfill future requirements. Using SOA methods allows us to offer professional services and functions as services, and easily map business processes as combinations of these services. SOA makes it simpler, and therefore much cheaper, to continue developing and adapting applications. Its standard interfaces mean that your investment is also protected. Existing services can be reused as components in other applications or, as a highly efficient option, grouped together as composite applications to form new solutions.
